*druideye commissioned me for this design, a tribal-feeling tatto of her totem animal, the dove. This was a big challenge, as she left things very open. A tribal feeling, simplistic design of a dove. She also said that she would like to somehow tie in celtic knots, since she has a previous tattoo of knots.

This was such fun to work on. We really seemed to be on the same waveleangth. She mentioned that she was a very melancholy person, so I added in tear drop shapes to go along with this. She liked 'em, might even get some of thsoe done in color. I'm very happy with the final design, and she seems to be, as well, so mission accomplished. :D ...she had to see all the icky rough stages my tattoes go through. :fear:

Drawn by hand, transferred into Illustrator with my Tablet.

My mate has that exact knot tattoo on his wrist, but it's a bit thicker. Nice work, I like the dove, but I don't think the knot really fits in. :hmm:

I definitely need a tablet. it makes things look so smooth. The design is really nice, it has this dove look without saying "Oh, its a dove" Its very stylized, and the celtic marks adds more interest to it. I also care for how the lines thin and thicken out in places, it gives more visual interest. Looks like a winner

...it's actually Illustrator that makes things look so smooth. ;) Tablets make it easier to color and trace, but it's the vector lines that are smooth, not the tablet strokes. Just so you don't have any untrue conceptions. ^^;

A design of pure beauty - mmmmmyes. Damn but I need to practice with vectors. x.x I like how smoothly the teardrops and the knot are worked into the design. :heart:

wow this is a very very very good design damphy 0_0

I like how you did the wings. They look awsome...and the tears look cool too =D The use of very sharp thick lines really gave a very good effect.
