Rest well, Pumpkin Spice

It's a sad day, my heart is broken. 11 years ago, my family brought home the cutest, sweetest little orange tabby the world has ever known. He was so sweet, so brave and so full of adventure.

When we adopted Ozzy, he was terribly ill, and his tiny little fuzzy body was covered in fleas that were almost as big as he was! A little TLC and a few trips to the vet and he rebounded like a pro. He's been the light of my family for the past decade, and I have to say, the decision to move across the country was that much more difficult for not getting to see him all the time.

His health took a turn for the worse recently. We thought we'd lost him twice to kidney failure, but twice he rebounded. He spent the weekend in my mom's lap, giving her the heads up that it was time. Today was the end of his struggles. I'm happy to know that he's no longer in pain, but I will miss him more than I have words for.

Rest well, Ozzy. Thanks for being our Sunshine Kitty, our Pumpkin Spice Latte. Thank you for watching over my mom, and thank you for being a part of my life.

I wish I could have said goodbye. I'm going to miss you.
